A Tractor Adventure

What is a tractor adventure, as you can guess, it involves tractors.   June 8, begins the 4 day adventure with a tractor ride, combining vintage farm tractors and displays with a historic ride, entertainment, and great food. I am excited it will be my 1st year.  Since I was a raised a city girl, thought this would be a great opportunity to put my boots to work driving a tractor.

Max Armstrong from WGN-720AM will be kicking of the adventure again this year.  His knowledge of the Midwest Farming community, and passion for vintage tractors, makes this an event worth your while.

The tractors travel approximately 30-50 miles a day.  The requirement to entire your tractor is it must have rubber tires, be able to travel 6 miles per hour and be over 30 years old.  No cars are allowed along the route but an alternate route is available to support the crews and visitors, more details: www.heritagetractoradventure.com.

After the tractor riding you can head over to Ottawa and attend their annual WineFest.  You will enjoy fresh Main Lobster flown in fresh and prepared right there, on the spot!  You must re-order on-line by June 5, and present your paid receipt when you’re ready to eat.  The lobster is served with fresh corn on the cob, pumpernickel bread and butter.   http://www.ottawa2riverswinefest.com/lobster

Don’t forget the wine, their will be 20 different wineries from Illinois to share their bounty with you.   Illinois wines are being recognized and honored at various competitions.  Check the website experienceottawa.com for the participating wineries at this year’s event.

I hope you take the time to explore these fun weekend adventures June 8 – 11th.

I will be waving at you from the tractor.  Hope to see you there.

Ciao-
